WideOpenWest to Sell Denver/Lakewood Cable System to Company Founders

Castle Rock, CO. (April 15, 2003) - WideOpenWest (WOW) announced today that it has entered into an agreement to sell its competitive cable television system serving portions of Denver and Lakewood, Colorado to a new firm, Champion Broadband, recently formed by WOW's founders Mark and David Haverkate. The cable system was constructed in 2001, and serves over 2,000 residential cable television and high-speed Internet customers. The purchase price was not disclosed.

In December 2001, WOW acquired from Ameritech four large competitive cable systems in the markets of Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland and Columbus. "The pending sale of our unique Denver system to Champion allows WOW to have a clear focus on our Midwest area systems," said Colleen Abdoulah, WOW's President.

The transaction is being reviewed by municipal officials, and is projected to close in the second quarter of 2003. There will be no interruption of services, and all customers will be notified directly by the company of any changes to phone numbers or addresses.
